1. A reduced carbon footprint

Furthermore, sustainable forest management ensures the constant renewal of this resource without massive deforestation. In Europe, for example, forests are generally expanding thanks to responsible harvesting practices.
3. Clean and efficient combustion
Wood pellets offer a much cleaner combustion than gas. Thanks to their low moisture content (generally less than 10%), they burn very efficiently, with an energy efficiency often exceeding 85%. In comparison, gas can generate NOx (nitrogen oxides) emissions, which contribute to air pollution and soil acidification.
4. Reduced environmental impact
Gas extraction and transport require significant infrastructure: drilling, refineries, pipelines, LNG carriers… all of which have a major environmental impact. In comparison, pellet production relies on a shorter and less energy-intensive cycle.
Moreover, unlike gas, wood pellets do not present a risk of methane leakage, a greenhouse gas whose warming potential is about 25 times greater than that of CO₂ over a period of 100 years.
